Fangirl Tamar sends greetings to the PJRS Blog!
As wonderful as Ashley the Bard’s introduction was, I should probably do a semi-proper introduction myself. I am indeed a fangirl of many things: games (video, table top, board), books, comics, TV shows that involve people being ridiculously competent at whatever it is they do (Burn Notice, Bones, Leverage, Fringe, Hustle…), Lady Gaga, most anything Joss Whedon, Doctor Who… It’s a long list. I'm also involved in the SCA and hope to eventually make my living with my sewing skills.
Incorporated into my love of all these things is also a love of researching, revealing, condemning and hopefully offering solutions for all those nasty –isms that are so prevalent in daily life. Sexism, Racism, Ableism etc. Fair warning: I see any of that bullshit happening in comments on my posts I will call you on it, if not outright delete the comment. I try to make the spaces I contribute to as safe as possible, so I don’t put up with crap like that. Legitimate questions and respectful disagreements are one thing, trolling for a response is another. So people know where I’m coming from: I’m a mid 20’s, white, cis-woman, who is currently on the bottom end of middle class and currently able bodied.
I think the internet can be a terrible venue for conveying things like amusement and sarcasm so I tend to use emotes a lot. Deal with it :P
Right now I’m working as a receptionist for a small company in a job that I hate, but recognize that at least I’m lucky enough to have a job. Usually. When I don’t want to toss the Big Boss out a window.
I can be found on Twitter at http://twitter.com/tamarbatavraham if you want to follow my daily musings about whatever pops into my head at any given moment.
My intro post came out rather longer than I’d planned and the next part is pretty graphic intense so I’m splitting my intended first post into two posts. A video game post should be showing up here soon!
